Five months in and we have had another cracking selection of books to read. The first OGN and the last issue of an amazing series, the hits just keep on coming.
First off we had Gatsby, and what a great book this was. Doing it in the collected version was definitely the right way to do it and I hope there will be more like this in the future. Was a great story, very well written and illustrated perfectly. The pacing was spot on and the characters were relatable and they kept you engaged in the story all the way through.
We then had issue 3 of Red Zone, keeping us on our toes while building up the mystery at the same time. I think this issue began to hint at something else going on behind the scenes and it will be interesting to see how it all ends in the next issue
Lastly we had Black Tape #4, what an ending…. This series had me hooked from the start and this issue delivered exactly what I wanted from the last issue. A great occult mystery series, highly recommended.
What have we got coming up in June?
Bit of a slower month in June but I have a feeling it will be the calm before the storm as we will soon be getting a batch of new titles.
We have a brand new series coming June 7th from Ed Brisson. Sins of the Salton Sea definitely has a very interesting solicitation. A thief doing one last job to help his brother out in which they cross paths with a Doomsday cult, what's not to like.
Then coming 21st June we have the final issue of Red Zone. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how this series ends. It has been a pleasant surprise to me how interesting this series is as it has been a lot more than a standard spy thriller..
