AWA Monthly recap - March 2023

The 3rd month of the year and we get another cracking release in the form of Red Zone, we also have the 2nd issue for the rocking Black Tape and 3rd installment of Trojan.

We opened the month with Red Zone #1, a spy thriller from Cullen Bunn and Mike Deodato. It was a great introduction to the character of Randall Crane and the setting as a whole but I think we are only scratching the surface of what we will see from this series. Looking forward to seeing where this goes especially for the teases we have been given from the covers of upcoming issues.

Black Tape #2 continues to build up the tension from the first issue as Cindy delves deeper into the mystery of Jack's past and what she has uncovered at the house. We learn a bit more about the Satanic side of things but that just brings up more questions and we get the first mentions of the someone looking for those last recordings. The issue ends with Cindy very much in danger and in way over her head.

To round the month of we had Trojan #3, with Nessa on her way to Kaapo for an unknown fate. Her dedication to her cause is very evident in this issue as she witnesses how this evil man treats the Legends. In his eyes he is exalting them to a higher state and giving their life some extra meaning. I can’t wait for the final issue to see who this is all going to end, will Nessa release her full fury upon the world?

What have we got coming up in April?

April continues our 2023 series and brings Trojans run to an end, it is always sad to see one go but so satisfying to get the story completed.

Red Zone #2 comes out 12th April and we will hopefully get a look at the particular set of skills Randall Crane has and fingers crossed find out who the massive mech suited man is from the cover B. I am expecting this series to be very interesting.

Black Tape #3 is out 19th April and it promises to be the issue that really ramps it up as we dive deeper in the mystery and get some answers to a few of the burning questions ready to take us to the final issue in May.

Trojan #4 comes out 26 April and we get to see how it all ends for Nessa. I know what I am hoping for as an ending but I think it could go either way here and surprise us all. I’ve liked the way the series has built up and given us a few switches along the way, I am sure the last issue will have a few tricks up its sleeve
