The final issue is here, what will be the fate of Randall and his ward? How many more enemies will come out of the woodwork before the end of the issue?

Thoughts…

I read this last issue and then had to go back and reread the full series as I felt that I had missed something along the way. Luckily reading the four issues all at once helped so I would recommend putting the time aside to read the full series in one sitting. This issue was a good ending to the series pulling all the elements together and giving a satisfying ending to the run.

As we have come to expect from the series there is a lot of action with a sprinkling of reminiscing on days gone by. I am not sure if the message here is don’t grow old or don’t give up the things that make you feel young but there is definitely something more here than just an espionage story.

I really liked the series as it built up the mystery of Randall's backstory and the rogues gallery that we have had introduced to us along the way. Now people know me as a big fan of everything that AWA releases but there was something about this issue that didn’t hit the same as the previous three, don’t get me wrong overall the series was very enjoyable and a great read but there were moments in this issue that pulled me out of the story, one thing being the cowboy assassin, not sure what he was all about.

So with all being said above I would still recommend this series for being a full on action adventure comic with some great pacing and excellent art. This final issue does give us a bit of a shocker at the ending as well that pulls it all back. I would give this series overall 7 out of 10 and I think there is potential for either a prequel or sequel to follow this up.
