Ten hard-as-nails women face off in an ancient contest of champions where the winner truly takes all: the title of “Queen of the Galaxy.” To win the challenge each contestant must survive the hazards of the planet’s harsh landscape, the ferocious predators on and below its surface, and their fellow contestants. This edition of the contest has a twist: one of the contestants is an infiltrator who has her eye on something bigger than the prize. Who is she and what does she really want?

Thoughts…..This Battle royale series to become Queen of the Galaxy is a really enjoyable read. There is a little bit of mystery to it but the main action is the hunger games style TV contest that pits them all against each other. The secondary story is the search to find out about the main characters background as there seems to be something off with this “outsider” This series is a fun read, there is nothing heavy about it that needs too much attention. There are a few twists and turns to it, one of which I saw coming the other I didn’t. The art style is clean and clear, and thankfully doesn’t make a thing about it being a cast of athletic women, they may be dressing in a crop top and shorts for a majority of the issue but it's still done with decency and doesn’t go the Dynamite comics route. There are some interesting creature designs within the different environments from dinosaurs to giant sharks adding a bit of Jurassic Park and Jaws to the movie inspirations. For such a simple premise of a series it was entertaining to read and could very well be a good series for a follow up, with some likeable characters especially the Butcher and Nigel that are introduced at the end of issue 2.

I would give this 7 out of 10, was fast paced read and was nice to have a series that was lighter with its theme, this could make a cool limited series for TV.
