When two young siblings excitedly unwrap their final Christmas presents, they discover toy robots unlike anything they have ever seen. And with good reason. What the kids and their parents don’t know is that their quaint suburban home just became the beachhead for these self-aware ‘bots that have begun to explore the outside world. And when one of the ‘bots breaks bad, it’s going to take a Christmas miracle to stop him.

Thoughts….This series gave me serious Batteries not Included vibes (check it out if you have not seen the film). It would make a great Christmas movie for sure. The super cute art style works really well to downplay something that is actually quite scary in places, especially when it comes to the later issues and we see what the little guy has been up to. Of all the titles from AWA this is the first one that I would say would be all ages appropriate which is strange as this is written by Cullen Bunn and his stuff is normally quite twisted. This does however make this series a good break from horror and super deep conspiracy that we normally see from AWA. It does give this series a more simplistic overall feel but it shouldn’t be overlooked for it, there are some nice moments in the issues and it leads to potentially a volume 2 that could be quite an interesting read.

I would give this series a 7 out of 10, definitely worth checking out but it is not the same style as any of the other AWA titles.
