In this action-packed adventure set in the universe of The Resistance, Gregg Hurwitz, Mark Texeira , and Brain Reber introduce a masked vigilante for the 21st Century. Bob Ryder is a hapless bureaucrat whose bad luck streak comes to a crescendo when he accidentally kills the city’s masked vigilante, The Knight. Oops. Now, Bob is forced to take on the mantle of the legendary hero before the city descends into chaos. Good thing he’s got The Knight’s former butler/assistant to show him the ropes.

Thoughts….I found this series to be quite enjoyable, it's a fun read. It is a story of two tones, both a lighthearted poking fun style and a deeper commentary on society at the same time. There are numerous jabs at Batman and there is definitely a lot of parody in this story. This is definitely a more tongue in cheek story set up, where Moths and Resistance have been more serious reads this is more in the tone of E-Ratic but with much more adult humour to it. I like the way they are using the universe this way as there is definitely a need for a lighter tone read once in a while to even out all the darkness. But within that light is a touch of darkness, the themes of the story and motivations especially of the Grinders are tinged with elements of abuse and their hate for the Reborn can be taken as any form of hatred for a group that is in the minority and being persecuted for perceived differences. Also it touches on a bit of toxic masculinity with Bob's co-workers within the police department. It skirts going too deep into issues it is portraying with the tone of the story but the commentary is there within the panels, Greg's latest series for AWA, NewThink, touches on some issues in a much more direct way.

I really enjoyed reading through this series and I would definitely read more if there was a volume 2, I would give this a solid 8 out of 10
