This Black Mirror-style anthology examines the rapid proliferation of technology, the cultural and political polarisation of the country and the technocrats that have driven us to such extremes of thought that we need to present the present as something futuristic.
Each of the five issues is a stand-alone tale with its own art team
Thoughts….What an amazing series this was. From the first issue it had me hooked, with the story of the Skreens controlling us all so that we willingly did their bidding. Each issue took a look at technology or modern society and shone a light on the way some things can be misused or misunderstood or even used against us to keep us all distracted. My personal favourite issue of the series (which I gave 10 out 10 in my review) was issue 4, this issue gave us a glimpse throughout time where the people marvelled at how the world could be, with all the benefits of modern technology we will live in a paradise where none go hungry or get sick. Where all are accepted no matter how they choose to live their lives or who they love. It will be a perfect world of peace and beauty and equality…………until the question is asked “and what will they do with this wondrous world?” And we all know full well the answer to that question. This issue hits hard when you think what this world could really be like given all that we have, I have read this issue numerous times and it still gets my every time.
This series is a great anthology, every story will have a different meaning to somebody for sure. The series is thought provoking and has a lot of depth, but at the same time is entertaining. With each issue having a different artist there is a great deal of variety in the art styles but each one compliments the story well. This is a 9 out of 10 for me all the way, I can't recommend this enough.
